Sitting here this morning, thinking of our plans for the fourth of July, and my mind drifted to the leaders who created the Declaration of Independence. Those men were true leaders. Although the world has changed a lot over the last 237 years, the leadership traits exhibited by our founding fathers still hold true today.
Declared a goal and wrote it down
The men of the Continental Congress had a goal, to be free from Great Britain. It was clear and concise. They did not give it a six-month trial period, or wait for King George to change his mind. They declared they would be free. Not only did they state their goal, they wrote it down.
